Course Description:
This pathway equips students with the creative and technical skills to design, build, and test playable games and interactive simulations.
Students explore how mechanics, systems, and player psychology interact to create meaningful experiences. Using Unreal Engine’s Blueprint system, they’ll bring original ideas to life through prototyping, iteration, and playtesting.
Graduates leave with a playable, portfolio-ready game demonstrating narrative integration, design balance, and technical functionality.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Design and balance game mechanics that create engaging player experiences.
Build functional game prototypes using Unreal Engine and Blueprints.
Apply spatial and level design principles to guide player navigation and emotion.
Integrate story, theme, and character into interactive gameplay systems.
Conduct playtesting and use player feedback for iterative design improvement.
Present and document game projects using industry-standard production methods.
Prerequisites: None (prior experience with 3D or game engines recommended but not required).
